It is a very safe treatment and there are hardly any restrictions or precautions to take before the treatment barring the usual requirement of sunscreen application.
It is prudent, however to avoid actives like retinol and AHAs the night before if possible to prevent irritation.I t is best to avoid blood thinners, NSAIDs like ibuprofen, anti oxidant supplements etc. for three days prior to the treatment. If you are prescribed a blood thinning medication such as aspirin or an anticoagulant by your doctor for a cardiovascular condition, then please check with your doctor prior to stopping the medication.
It is important to note that the procedure may need to be avoided in case of open wounds, severe cystic acne, active herpes or cold sores.
HIFU is contraindicated in patients with active mechanical implants like pacemakers, metallic implants in treated area.
