Obtaining the Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) involves a medical process in which a person’s blood is drawn from the arm and placed in a centrifuge machine which separates the plasma in about 15 minutes. It is then transferred to syringes and injected into the area of treatment. The procedure of injecting PRP itself takes 10-15 minutes with minimal to no discomfort. There may be mild redness, itching, and pain at the injection sites, but these side effects usually improve shortly after the procedure, especially when the pre and post procedure protocol is followed.
